Konstantin Stepanov, M.Sc.Head of Research, Equity Strategy, Telecommunications
Konstantin has more than nine years experience in investment research, three of which have been spent in executive positions. He has worked in investment consulting and management consulting in the sphere of strategic and business development. Before joining Sokrat in 2008, Konstantin worked as a senior manager at Senteo International, a consulting firm specializing in business restructuring. He previously held positions as Head of Research at Brunswick Capital, a leading international investment group, and at McKinsey & Company, a top management consulting firm. Konstantin has a M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and brings to his position knowledge of various fields, including strategic planning, banking, telecommunications, business development, marketing, research, and organizational development.

Dmitry Khoroshun, Ph.D. Metallurgy & Mining, Chemicals, Oil & Gas
Dmitry has been part of the Sokrat team since Feb. 2007. He has a M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Higher Chemical College of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. He later graduated from Emory University in the United States with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. In addition to oil & gas and chemicals & pharmaceuticals, Dmitry supervises Sokrat’s analysis of metallurgy and mining, including the pipe and ferroalloys industries and the refractory material sectors. His scientific and analytical background are significant assets for this position, having past experience as a research associate at Emory University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Max Planck Society in Germany.

Sergiy Nevmerzhytskyi , M.Ec. Energy, New Markets, Macroeconomics
Sergiy joined the Sokrat team at the beginning of 2007. His primary areas of coverage are macroeconomics, politics and strategy, which also includes coverage of the relatively untapped emerging markets of Central Asia, Belarus and Moldova. Sergiy also boasts in-depth knowledge of the insurance, agriculture and mining industries. He has gained three years of professional experience in the spheres of financial market authority, auditing and investment banking, including a term at KPMG. He received his Master’s in Economics from the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv.

Mykhaylo Salnykov, Ph.D. Macroeconomics, Fixed Income Mykhaylo joined the Sokrat team in 2008 after graduating with his Ph.D. in Economics from Simon Fraser University (Canada). He holds an M.A. degree in Economics from the Kyiv School of Economics (Ukraine) and a M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Policy from the Central European University (Hungary). Mykhaylo brings to his position a wealthy professional background, including six years of academic research in the spheres of economics and statistical methods, and has authored dozens of articles and conference presentations. He has served as a Research Associate at EERC (Kyiv), a Visiting Scholar at the Central European University, a Lecturer at Simon Fraser University, and has consulted for private, state and international organizations (i.e. the UN) on Ukraine’s WTO accession, oil and gas market, forestry, and transportation.
